It’s set in the heart of rural south west France and the privacy of the site offers tranquil family holidays with the added bonus of excellent carp fishing. Excellent accommodation, swimming pool, specimen carp fishing – you can’t help but fall in love with this venue.
Windmill Lakes – French carp fishing holiday
If you like to combine your carp fishing with trying for monster catfish then take a good look at the Windmill complex. There are two lakes, both around 4 acres, holding specimen carp… but the Top Lake also offers some serious catfishing with large cats to around 80lb. The lakes are only a few metres apart so you can bivvy up together between the two and still socialise whilst fishing different lakes. Windmill is therefore the perfect combination for a group of anglers with mixed abilities. The Main carp lake has the better stamp of carp whilst the Top lake is a real runs water that also gives you the chance to catch big cats… and you certainly know about it when you have one of these on the line, believe us!
Grosley – Carp fishing holidays in France
Grosley sur Risle is a well established and mature venue set in the Normandy countryside near Evreux. As its name suggests it lies in the Risle valley and is flanked by rolling hills and a railway line on its far bank – this does see some rail traffic, but nothing too intrusive. Before being turned into a carp fishery it was a leisure park so the facilities are very good. It’s now under new ownership having been recently purchased by Eric Touzé who is determined to create a first class carp fishery. Grosley has 2 separate lakes, the Large Lake (around 25 acres) and the Small Lake (around 9 acres). Both lakes have good stocks of carp; the record in the Large Lake is 48lb and the Small Lake 40lb.
Long Lake – carp fishing in France
Long Lake is a former gravel pit set in the lush agricultural countryside of north eastern France, around 3.5 hours from Calais. It’s a relatively large lake at 18 acres in size and accepts up to 12 anglers. It can be booked exclusively but individual bookings are welcome too. The lake has excellent facilities and fish stocks with the average fish being in the 20’s…. but 30’s are not at all uncommon. As a bonus the lake also has large sturgeon to over 60lb and if you’ve never caught one of these tail-walking maniacs you’re in for a treat!
Beaurepaire – carp fishing holiday in France
Beaurepaire has been a well kept secret by many who have fished it. It’s a beautiful natural gravel pit, just 2.5 hours from Calais that’s stuffed with fish – it really is a runs water! It’s around 7 acres and would ideally suit a group of up to six anglers looking to book a lake exclusively… but individual bookings are welcome too. There are no designated swims but there’s plenty of room to bivvy up.
Commons Lake – carp fishing in France
A cracking venue set in the countryside of rural north western France. Following the fantastic success of Morgane lakes fish farmer Michel Bigot decided to open a second lake, Commons Lake, just 1km away. Situated in the Mayenne region, near Laval, in the lush agricultural countryside of rural north western France, it is about 2.5 hours from the ferry port of Caen. He’s replicated Morganes as closely as possible – a lake you book exclusively for up to 6 anglers, complete with mobile home accommodation and stuffed full of large, pristine carp.
St Christophe – carp fishing holiday in France
A true specimen hunters water which holds some real prizes St Christophe has an impressive pedigree for big fish captures. The current record mirror is 71lb 5oz and it fish like these that have drawn some of the biggest name sin carp fishing to its banks. The main lake is a cobalt blue gravel pit, around 35 acres in size with 13 well spaced pegs with vehicle access to each one. It’s fairly deep in most place averaging 2m, with a fairly flat lake bed made up of sand and gravel.
Malvoisine – carp fishing in France
The Etang de la Malvoisine is situated in a sleepy village in the heart of the Mayenne region, an easy drive from the channel ferry ports of Le Havre and Caen. The owners are French and we’ve been very impressed with the professional way they are setting their lake up. We’re confident that it’ll be a first class venue and it’s often the anglers who get on a new water early who have some cracking catches… why not make it you?
Bletiere – carp fishing holiday in France
Great fishing, excellent accommodation and a truly peaceful location. La Bletiere is a beautiful little venue in the heart of the French countryside, around 2.5 hours from the ferry at Caen, where you can have a well stocked carp lake all to yourself and stay in a high quality gite on the banks of the lake. It’s owned by English couple John & Lesley London who live on site and are always on hand for help and advice. A maximum of 4 anglers can fish the lake but John prefers 3 as that gives you options to move around a little.
Vincons – carp fishing in France
Fast and furious action suited to the discerning family angler, Vinçons is a truly beautiful 12 acre spring fed lake situated on a working farm. The setting really is idyllic, quiet and rural, in one of the loveliest regions of central France. The lake is quite literally stuffed full with carp & most guests catch more fish than they ever thought possible. Add this to a choice of two types of accommodation and the use of a swimming pool and you can see why Vinçons has been one of our most popular destinations since 2001.
