Sauvellière – carp fishing in France
Sauvellière is a 3.5 acre lake set in the Mayenne countryside, less than 100 miles from the ferry at Caen. This venue is extremely private set in it’s own fenced grounds in a tranquil and peaceful area of Normandy. Staying here really is like having your own carp lake in your own garden and is immediately inviting the moment you pass through the entrance gate. The lawns are beautifully kept with a mature trees and bankside vegetation – it’s a little piece of heaven!

Beaurepaire has been a well kept secret by many who have fished it. It’s a beautiful natural gravel pit, just 2.5 hours from Calais that’s stuffed with fish – it really is a runs water! There are no designated swims but there’s plenty of room to bivvy up.

Long Lake – carp fishing in France
Long Lake is a former gravel pit set in the lush agricultural countryside of north eastern France, around 3.5 hours from Calais. It’s a relatively large lake at 18 acres in size and accepts up to 12 anglers. It can be booked exclusively but individual bookings are welcome too. The lake has excellent facilities and fish stocks with the average fish being in the 20’s…. but 30’s are not at all uncommon. As a bonus the lake also has large sturgeon to over 60lb and if you’ve never caught one of these tail-walking maniacs you’re in for a treat!
Molyneux – carp fishing holidays in France
Molyneux lies in the beautiful Normandy countryside and is very easy to reach being just 2¾ hours from Calais and 1¼ hours from Le Havre… and apart from the last ten minutes it’s all motorway! The lake is nestled in stunning countryside far from noise and light pollution, the loudest noise being the birdsong that provides a peaceful backdrop to the fantastic carp fishing on offer.
Ribiere – carp fishing holiday in France
A large water of around 25 acres, this former gravel pit has depths varying from 6 to 1.5 metres.There are swims on both sides and all the pegs are wide and spacious – some can comfortably accommodate 3 or 4 anglers. All pegs are pre-booked… you will be asked to make a choice when you book your holiday. If the ground conditions are good you can drive to most of the pegs and then return your car to the car park. If it’s wet you can drive to the lake edge & then wheel barrows are available to help transport your tackle to your swim.

These mature lakes can definitely be described as action waters – they contain an awesome number of carp and there are also a fair number of larger cats to 100lb+. Les Vaux is a stone built mill house that dates back to the 16th Century and is set in the lush green countryside on the borders between Brittany, Normandy and the Pays de la Loire. It is approximately 2 hours from the ferry port of Caen and 1½ hours from St. Malo. The very pretty private lake that lies next to the house dates back over 300 years and has never previously been used as a commercial fishery. The venue is owned by an English couple Chas and Josie Cook, who have restored the lakeside house to a very high standard and stocked the lake with fish.
